This week, we’re tackling the hard truths about trauma, addiction, and loss—real battles that shape who we are and fuel the fight to rise stronger.
This week, I’m diving into some heavy territory. We’re not skimming the surface or sugarcoating anything. We are diving into trauma, addiction, and loss—three words that pack a punch. They’re more than just concepts; they’re battles. They’re the scars we carry, the demons we face, and the lessons that carve us into who we are. This week, I’m breaking them down, defining what they mean—not just in theory, but in the raw, unapologetic context of reality. Why? Because to build on something, you need a solid foundation. You can’t construct a path forward without understanding where you’re standing.
Trauma, addiction, loss—they’re not just words for me; they’re chapters in my story. They’re part of the fight that got me here. And if you’re reading this, chances are they’re part of your story, too. Maybe you’ve been there. Maybe you’re there right now. Maybe you’ve watched someone you love crumble under the weight of these battles. Wherever you stand, these truths connect us, the unspoken struggles that shape us, and we’re naming them this week. Not to dwell, not to wallow, but to understand. Understanding is the first step toward owning them; owning them is the only way to break free.
But this week isn’t just about definitions; it’s about laying the groundwork for something bigger. I’m also working on weaving ownership into the PRIDE framework. Ownership is a beast of its own, and we’re going to confront it. I won’t get into the nitty-gritty of ownership today—that’s a conversation for the end of the week—but let me tell you this: ownership is the thread that ties everything together. Without it, PRIDE is just a hollow acronym. With it, it is a way of life. It’s the difference between surviving and living. And by the end of this week, we’re going to dig deep into how ownership transforms Purpose, Resilience, Integrity, Discipline, and Empowerment into something unstoppable.
If you’ve been following my articles here, thank you. Seriously. Writing these is more than just putting words on a page; it’s a way of connecting, sharing the things that keep me moving forward, and, hopefully, lighting a fire for someone else to do the same. But I want to point out that this isn’t the only place I’m putting out content. Over the last week, I’ve been cranking up my social media game, especially on Facebook. If you’re not following me there, you’re missing out. I’m sharing more insights, personal moments, and stuff that doesn’t always make it into these articles. Go check it out. Follow the page, engage with the posts, and let’s keep building this community.
Now, I’ve got a favor to ask. If you’re here, reading this, it’s because something in these words resonates with you. Maybe it’s the honesty. Maybe it’s the rawness. Maybe it’s because you see a piece of yourself in my story. Whatever it is, if you know someone who could benefit from this, share it with them. Send them a link, tag them in a post, and tell them about what I’m doing here. You never know whose life you might touch just by sharing something that’s helped you. And if you want to make sure you don’t miss anything, subscribe to the newsletter. It’s the best way to stay connected and to catch every article.
We’re all in this fight together. Everyone is battling something, and no one gets through life unscathed. But here’s the thing—you don’t have to face it alone. There’s strength in sharing, connecting, and building each other up. That’s what PRIDE is all about. Purpose, Resilience, Integrity, Discipline, and Empowerment aren’t just words; they’re the compass. They’re the code. They’re the way to live, and they’re the way through.
So, as we move through this week, I want you to keep PRIDE at the forefront. Live with purpose—know why you’re here and what you’re fighting for. Be resilient—when life knocks you down, get back up and hit harder. Hold onto your integrity—it’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it. Stay disciplined—show up, even on the days you don’t want to. And empower yourself and others—because strength isn’t just about lifting yourself; it’s about lifting those around you too. That’s PRIDE. That’s how you face the battles and become stronger on the other side.
This week is just the beginning. We’re peeling back the layers, getting to the core of what drives us, what holds us back, and what sets us free. It won’t be easy, but the things that matter never are. And if you’re here for it, if you’re ready to dig deep, then let’s do this. Let’s tackle trauma, addiction, and loss. Let’s talk about what they mean, how they shape us, and how we rise above them. Let’s take ownership—not just of the bad, but of the good, the hard, the victories, and the failures. Because when you take ownership, you take control. And when you take control, you’re unstoppable.
This week, I challenge you to live intentionally. Don’t just let the days pass by—own them. Own your choices, your actions, and your mindset. Own your life. And while you’re at it, share the journey. Reach out to someone who needs it. Spread the message. Because the only way we get through this life is together, one hard truth at a time.
Live with PRIDE this week. Not just for yourself but for the people watching, those who need to see what strength looks like, and those who need to believe it’s possible—because it is. Let’s get to work.
Stay disciplined. Stay resilient.
