Jim Lunsford

Jim Lunsford is a writer, coach, and speaker who lives by one truth: discipline builds freedom. After hitting rock bottom in addiction and weighing 305 pounds, he made the decision at 2:33 a.m. on August 2, 2015, to quit cold turkey. Since then, he has lost over 130 pounds, rebuilt his life, and dedicated himself to helping others do the same. Through his articles, coaching, and speaking, Jim shares raw lessons on resilience, recovery, and ownership. His style is direct and forged from real experience. He believes recovery and growth demand discipline, and he teaches others to push past excuses and take back control of their lives. When he isn’t writing or coaching, Jim trains as an endurance runner, spending his mornings on the road proving that discipline doesn’t take a day off.

Learning how to build confidence was something I had to earn the hard way. It wasn’t always part of me. For years, I lived in insecurity, fear, and self-doubt. At 305 pounds, lost in addiction, and chained to destructive habits, I didn’t even believe in myself, let alone carry myself with confidence.
